Allegheny Roots by Nambroth

Allegheny Roots

Nambroth

There are many very personable trees that grow where I live, and this one growing along the Allegheny river nearby catches my attention every time I see it. This painting was really just an excuse to explore those roots and textures visually! The Common Merganser is there because we see them nearly every time we walk along this stretch of the river.

    Reminded me of those tangled root bridges in india... apparently they've been around for hundreds of years by now;

    Wish I had more interesting natural venues to draw inspiration from... the trees roots here seem more interested in disfiguring my sidewalk than anything.

    I really enjoy this piece, the roots remind me of the trees I played on a lot as a kid.

    This is so beautiful. I love the details of the roots and the textures. I've always wanted to see a merganser myself!
