Metis - Northern Spotted Owl Mask by Nambroth

Metis - Northern Spotted Owl Mask

Nambroth

This was a commission for Metis of her Northern Spotted Owl.

Resin base by Yellow-Fr3ak of Freakhoundstudios.com
Faux fur, paint, acrylic eyes, with lots of sanding and apoxie sculpt. I also accented it with white cochin hen feathers.

The beak is articulated and opens and shuts with the wearer’s mouth.

Your masks are truly amazing. And with the feathers of your chickens to boot! XD

I actually don't have any white birds, so I contacted someone that saves and cleans feathers from her flock and bought some. :) http://www.runningbugfarm.com/

Oh! Someone else's chickens! Haha. I use ChuChu's feathers for crafts sometimes, though mostly we say she produces cat toys.

I've seen some realistic bird costumes out there, but nothing as amazing as this!

This is the ultimate Holloween mask!

Holy COW this is the mask that twitter was talking about!! Freaking amazing, it looks just like the bird. <3 Was this the full size blank, or does she now offer smaller ones?

I'm not totally clear on the differences in size; the blank itself was also commissioned by my client. :)

I just wasn't aware that Yellow Freak had more than one beak sized blank. Ive only seen the one you used to make the philippene eagle.

I don't think she did until this one was commissioned, but I'm not sure. :)
