It is time again! This is my painting for the third book in a series by Jess E. Owen, with this novel being titled "A Shard of Sun".
"Shard is a gryfon entrusted with a great responsibility. A dragon of the Sunland has left her newborn kit to his care, and now Shard has difficult decisions to make about how best to keep the swiftly growing dragonet safe, while remaining true to his own destiny and the prophecy of the Summer King. He sets out to return the dragonet to his kin in the Sunland and find help for his own quest, but his hope for making wise and benevolent allies is quickly replaced with the reality of cold, mistrustful dragons who want nothing to do with gryfons, Shard, or his wars in warmer lands."

Both are award winning novels! Not too shabby!
This book, the third, is currently released as an e-book! Hardcovers are coming soon. http://www.amazon.com/Shard-Sun-Book-Summer-Chronicles-ebook/dp/B00S71WQF6/
I created this painting to be the complete wrap-around dust jacket for the hardcover book. So, the aurora and Wandering Albatross will be on the back, Shard will be on the front, and there are flaps to either side. Painted in Corel Painter with mostly the Acrylic brush.

Woah! @A@ This is really nice, I'm sure it would look fantastic as the jacket for a book. The sun that would be on the front cover is kind of a cool contrast with the auroras and starlight that would be on the back cover, but if you look at it all together like this it appears to mesh really naturally.
