Continue along with Shard, the gryfon (gryphon/griffin/griffon) as he continues to seek his destiny as the Summer King. If you like gryfons, wolves, sentient/sapient animals, and a lush fantasy nature-based world, you might get a real kick out of these stories. This was painted as a wrap-around dust jacket, so the section with the tree will be a back flap, the owl will be on the back cover, Shard the gryfon on the front, and the rest of the rocks will be the front flap. Hence the long format!
Painted in Corel Painter, using the oil pastel and acrylic brushes.

I loved how the gryphons were portrayed in Mercedes Lackey's novels, is this treatment any similar? It's certainly a beautiful cover. I love it's pink hues and wraparound nature.

The gryphons are treated in a similar way in that they are main characters, intelligent and complex in emotion, but their lore is different. I think if you liked Misty/Larry's work, you might like these books. I did.
