I need to relax and paint something I'm enjoying, because I haven't been doing any of that for weeks now.
Many artists have inspired me recently to try painting from greyscale first and then applying colour.
I also want to get more into realism.
So this is a head shot portrait of my wolf character Naira using a close photo reference as a guide ( http://woxys.deviantart.com/art/First-and-the-last-time-252161702?q=favby%3Anaira-wolf-satyr%2F52337234&qo=325 ) which was originally painted in black and white.
It's interesting, I think I need to experiment and learn more though. It's still a bit more saturated than I intended.
But I like it :3

The furrrrrrr! And the eyes! I think the saturation is just dandy myself.
It's funny you just posting this where you did the greyscale first then colored it. The last pic I posted was where I colored over a shaded pencil sketch and I really liked the way it turned out. ;3
