i think this is around the time i started to really get into digital painting (and also was doing commissions on gaiaonline, as one does), but i struggled a lot w grasping contrast. not much after this i started to just add shadows w multiply layers for harsher contrast and paint those in instead of trying to put it together just by eye. and at this point i've come full circle and i just color by eye again, although i dont paint as much as i used to unforshunately. i really want to get back into doing it though, which is part of the reason i changed art programs - i think i may be able to push myself further if i become proficient in a program that isnt sai
