Old Art

I love Celestia as a character. The design, the motherly attitude, a small playful streak, a love for cake and an excellent voice actress all make her quite the ruler. More than that I owe the show itself quite a lot. Back in high school when we got to choose our subjects I never picked art. I walked down a very scientific path right through university. Now that's not to say I wasn't creative, rather that I never really got to express it much. Enter 2011 and the first season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. At first I was hesitant, but a couple of episodes in and somehow I found myself enthralled with the art, design, world and characters. Now I'm a sucker for animation so that's not a strech, but the consistent quality stuck with me. To the point that started doodling again. Rough and crude as can be! However that love of creating started to grow and grow. Till as of now I work on art most evenings of the week and it feels fantastic. The roots of that rediscovery of the joy of art stems from FiM and what better way to express that than a pic of my favourite princess!
