Moonlight walking, I smell your softness
Carnivorous and lusting to track you down among the pines
I want you stuffed into my mouth
Hold you down and tear you open, live inside you, love
I'd never hurt you
But I'll grind against your bones until our marrows mix
I will eat you slowly...
This was actually a true story, as near as I know. It was featured in an episode of a TV show from when I was quite young. Death Valley Days actually aired two episodes referring to the background story (the U.S. Army using camels for cavalry) and the specific event, which is a true story of the Old West.
Camel Train from 1957 sets the scene (I was only a few months old): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0556572/
The Red Ghost of Eagle Creek (1963) tells the tale of terror: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0556861/
The Legend of Red Ghost appeared on the Arizona Oddities website: https://arizonaoddities.com/2010/03/the-legend-of-red-ghost/

A mutual consumption.
Reminds me a little of the story of a camel that stalked the desert of the U.S. Southwest in the 19th Century. It seems to have escaped from an experimental cavalry regiment, and its rider died, still tied to his saddle.
