Michael believes he's found the escape clause he's been searching for. However, before he can take advantage of it, he meets a couple of National Government agents who tell him that they've been informed of possible contract law violations. Michael and the government agents go to Amanda's hospital room where Michael convinces Amanda that she has to go through with the wedding ceremony much to Amanda's chagrin. The wedding official, who resembles a Roman Catholic priest, starts the wedding ceremony as Michael awaits his opportunity. When the question about reason or just cause was asked, Michael responds with a, "Yes." He then explains that the contract is null and void and explains why. He follows this with a legally binding court case in which he has the contract voided to the anger of Mr. Reynard.
