William goes hunting. He obtains a Jootaka, a rather heavy animal, and, after managing to drag it out of the forest near a bridge, one of the bridge guards, A-Deka, offers to assist him in getting it home. William offers A-Deka some of the meat as a thank you for his assistance. Jy-Choona arrives as William is cleaning the Jootaka and helps William in cleaning it. Shortly afterward, Rora arrives with Te'-Maky, a door guard at the Suala Ka'ynony. Maky requests training in swordsmanship. William tells him of the requirement of permission of his Ka'. The next day, Maky returns with the permission and a mission to spy on William. William tells him to fulfill the orders of the Ka'yno and, then, starts Maky's training.
