Sing me a song of bravery,
Of will, and wit, and knavery.
Of shattered lands and burning fields,
Of blood-stained armor and battered shields.
Of swordsman's craft and wizard's art,
Of those who sacrificed all or part.
A little snatch of rhyme I've developed off and on for... well, as long as I can remember. This one took fourth place at my local college's poetry competition (which would be an achievement if there'd been much actual competition in the first place).
Needless to say though, this one's rather special to me.
