Sometimes I wish Quebec wasn't so far from all the fun conventions :(-
Well, there are some Canadian ones (I have a friend who keeps trying to drag me up there) but I'm not sure how far they are from you.

Sadly the only furry-con proper I know of in Quebec is in Montreal city(which though not -that- far is still a 2-3 hours ride so ideally you'd still want to get an hotel for both gas and time alone... still it beats actually having to pay for a plane).
Though what I heard about it.... make me unsure if I want to go there. Other than that though, you do have anime cons like Otakuthon(also in Montreal city) which -is- the second biggest anime con in Canada altogether if I recall well. My sister(who's a huge anime and Japanese BJD fan) actually met one of the main characters' voice actors for the english dub of Fullmetal Alchemist there actually(specifically, Vic Mignola iirc the name, who if I recall was the voice behind Edward).
