Simple, but nonhuman spirits, Pathkins inhabit jack o lantern type bodies with overgrown vines for their trunk and limbs. Their faces indicate their nature, and while some are able to manipulate their expressions, most do not stray from the face they are given – after all, it is what makes each one unique! They are nonverbal creatures, though they are very animated in nature, some even going to lengths to learn how to imitate sounds around them for impish purposes.

Pathkin are naturally curious and often found making mischief with humans – mischief that can be worse if they pool together in groves. Comparatively speaking, they are much like children; always getting into things when they are able and always eager to learn new things. At their worst, Pathkin can be mean spirited, but most hardly grasp the gravity of their own actions. Truly malevolent Pathkins exist but they are very few and far between and often isolated from other Pathkin.

Biologically speaking, they are capable of mildly supernatural things, the most predominantly noticeable facet of this being the eerie glow from their faces, which seems to have no source. Other things include but are not limited to: regrowing limbs, growing new limbs altogether, changing the size of their bodies, and invulnerability to the elements. Some are gifted with more and will build their identity around whatever thing makes them stand out, as they value being able to express themselves.

This particular Pathkin emanates fire from his center, and because of this is also invulnerable to it. They also have learned to imitate quite a bit of shrieks.
