Artist Statement:

So many things have beginnings, but the work "beginning" invokes images of travel, adventure, change and simply braving the first step. I wanted the first image to show an adventurer looking over the distance that has to be traveled which is full of so many unknowns. Not only is the picture a beginning of the 100 theme challenge, but it is also the beginning of a journey full of artistic expression and exploration.
