Finally doing something artsy of my fictional world that's not Estelbachtian.

The Carabinieri of the Geminalli Empire.
Currently the nation's official paramilitary force, the Carabinieri's purpose is peacekeeping the homeland in times of war & peace. It was founded as a men-at-arms unit of the king's armies, second to the nobility of the Royal Guard. But with the introduction of modern technology & tactics, and the nation's expansion onto the mainland with the new army, the Carabinieri was taken from the front lines to support policing duties against a growing threat in more poverty-stricken regions of the island kingdom - the once church-ordained mafia.

Today, in times of peace, the Carabinieri presents a national symbol and crime deterrent, having been trained as the kingdom's armed forces. Obtaining weapons & equipment that were deemed "obsolete" 50 years ago, the Carabinieri are far from under-gunned against the better-equipped but poorly-trained gangsters, and are often deployed in raids on criminal establishments, and hardly a mobster's been brought out unharmed.

Here, the Carabinieri are presented in two styles, officers (with peak caps & sidearms, also the common attire for patrolmen) & soldiers (with feathered hats). Their equipment are usually old-era but properly-maintained sub-machine guns, bolt-action carbines, automatic rifles, civilian cars, & classic motorcycles.
