With the homeland of the Empire and much of its occupied territories being mountainous, the Imperial Arsenal focuses its equipment for range, and the military prides itself in high standards of marksmanship. Medium-caliber battle rifles are the mainstay of the Imperial Armed Forces, with light-caliber assault rifles limited to vehicle crews, protection units, and Special Forces. Compacted marksman rifles are especially favored for assassinations, and believed to be responsible for several high-level killings, like an Anachim Caliph prince near the border between the Caliphate & the Empire. The pan-magazine automatic rifles are used more frequently as squad weapons due to more ruggedness than belt-fed squad weapons in their inventory. The sub-machine guns, a standard in their arsenal for nearly a century, remains a favorite for officers, heavy weapons crews, vehicle crews, and Special Forces.
