Futuristic Memories

Back when I was 5, my grandmother would take me down to LA for the likes of Knott's (Berry Farm) and Disneyland quite a lot. Save for Toontown and Haunted Mansion in the latter's regard, I was always captivated by the monorail and submarines, and would always demand to go on both (usually in succession of each other). I just loved how unique and cool those rides were, and was disappointed when the subs closed down years later.

Just fond memories of that time. As much as the D still has 'em both now (with sleeker monorails and another park to boot), I do admit feeling a bit of nostalgia for riding the old monorails over a vast parking lot.

Just being sentimental, main inspiration for the pic.

I did try the new submarines fairly-ish-ish-ish recently when they reopened... the novelty wore off quickly; I initially thought the boats were smaller until I remembered it was nearly a full 10 years since I last rode prior.

Yes, that's supposed to be el folf atop a foxy parent; the faded/yotish pattern's a bit of a take for being born blonde and turning brown within a few years - born grey, turn orange :p
