Two-day doodle of Crosscut based on an old sketch

I changed his / its design slightly; his head and front claws are actually separated from the body. The head is always a fixed distance from the chest, but the claws can move several inches away from the arms.

This entire piece was basically one massive experiment in shading and lighting, and I rather like it. It was super hard, especially when I decided to have the red glow (a sign that Crosscut is angry), but I still like the progress I made between this and the last big "complex" shading / lighting thing I attempted, which was Nightshade's ref pic back in 2013.

His insignia is sort of hard to see, sadly, but it's still in place on his chest.

using colored lighting is cool and I might use it more for Crosscut tbh
