I am a bit of a sucker for stories that have a tragedy or disaster inflicted on a character, or groups of them, and in dealing with it the characters are reborn into something a little better than they were when it all started. Or at least understand a lot more about themselves on the far side. A lot of these images are kinda fanart/snapshot ideas that might be in the story, but the overall tone would have to be bringing the heaviness of this loss to the fore at least in the early sections until they start successfully adapting to the new situation.

For a stretch these two were kind of my favorite to play around with.

Chiffon had always been a pretty pampered pony, and likes to dress up and show off a lot. A clothing model in a civilization where clothing is practically optional, and treated frequently as an accessory. Once their kingdom collapsed and they were on the run there wasn't much of a need for this anymore, and she certainly couldn't take any but the barest of things from her wardrobe with her. But a little comfort sometimes helps you get through rough times, and it can come from the smallest things. Chiffon had abruptly volunteered for the fusion in the first place when she heard that the dragons handled the heat so much better than ponies did. But now she's living in a cave, with a conjoined partner that in many ways is very different than her, and in some ways she realizes they're surprisingly similar. For her part Mica is a pretty simple dragon, and just happy to go along with things. If these make this new pony content that's good enough.
