Upon further investigation, the dragon duo known as Rumble&Spitter [Mature (18+ non-sexual)] are thought to be a rare case of eggmates - identical twins. Though it's not unheard of in the Blackhorn species, these individuals are usually culled quickly by their parent or their siblings due to their small size at hatching.

Those that survive grow up to possess identical territory markers, however, allowing them to cross into each others' lands without perceiving one another as competition. It's unusual for the Blackhorn species to empathize with fellow Blackhorns, and it's not clear if that's what's at play here. The fact remains that members of this species are at least capable of cooperating with each other, circumstances permitting.
