Oh, it was a marvellous night
All the cats were full of delight
Dancing under the star sky bright
After they'd beaten the canines in fight!

And sgt. Mittens, all high on the nip
Stood on a table, his tail like a whip
Thundering cat songs and swinging his hips
The rest of the felines just cheered and threw tips.

With bottles of milk and bowls full of meat
No one could wait to get drinks and to eat
Fluffball the cat-cook broke sweats in the heat
Later they found him passed out in the weed.

Oh, it was a marvellous night
Everything seemed just so happy and right
The cats, they were dancing, their heads oh-so-light
After they'd beaten the canines in fight!
