Medical Meccanica

The starters for my fakemon region, Roeizek (a large, mushed together eurasia and africa)

Sproutara
Grass
Weed Pokemon
Sproutara were once a common pest in many areas of Roeizek. They eat crops, and once they've had their fill, fall asleep standing up.

Thisuana
Grass
Dandelion Pokemon
Thisuana uses its limber legs to escape from predators. It travels in packs, which frequently split up and reform.

Dandelante
Grass
Thistle Pokemon
Dandelante's tail resembles a Mareep and can even light up to mimic static charges. When other Pokemon approach, it shoots spines out of its tail and immobilizes them.

Onini
Fire
Imp Pokemon
Mischevious Pokemon that love to cause trouble, Onini are offered to first-time trainers in the hopes that young trainers can match their energy and keep them occupied.

Onibake
Fire/Steel
Ogre Pokemon
When angered, it attacks everything around it indiscrimately. They use barking noises to find other Onibake to fight.

Onikanabo
Fire/Steel
Iron Club Pokemon
Onikanabo wields its arms as deadly weapons, but it has trouble holding objects. Individual Onikanabo will eat and pick up things different ways.

Lakooh
Water
Lake Serpent Pokemon
Long believed to not exist, Lakooh lives on the banks of muddy bogs. It lures Bug Pokemon towards the water with its flashing tail.

Loknas
Water
Lake Monster Pokemon
At night, Loknas emerge from polluted and muddy waters to sing haunting songs. These songs can be heard from miles away and can drive people mad.

Lurholdi
Water/Poison
Dirge Pokemon
Normally living deep in bogs, after a natural disaster groups of Lurholdi will surface and make sounds like chanting monks.

I'm particularly in love with the Lakooh evolution line! <3

Thank you! I'd love to ride on a Lurholdi, I think of them as being kinda soft and blubbery and slug-like in texture, but firm enough to sit on and Surf across the oceans owo

Random-ish Q about your Fakemon designs: do you take ideas for future fakemon? Like, I'd tell you about creatures from real life and legends, and you'd take into consideration or something like that.

        Is that okay?

I do take suggestions! I have quite a lot of designs I haven't sprited or drawn yet, and I'm a mythology/folklore buff and future biology major (probably,) so it's possible I've already considered or designed something you mighr suggest - but I'm always happy to hear about interesting concepts, combinations, etc!

How about something based off the two nemesis of Thai/Buddhist mythology, the Garuda and Naga?
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/-EqFdVr27jI/hqdefault.jpg (The pic on the right is a misrepresentation of what the Naga actually is. You can see the Naga and Garuda duking it out on the left pic.)

oh, I'm a big fan of those two, might make a cool Zangoose/Seviper esque single stager rivalry. I have trouble thinking of single stagers anyways. I'll pull out my mythology book and a do a bit of research next time I sketch! Any ideas for typings?

              • Link

Typing, I'll likely have to leave up to you, tbh. I love pokemon, but am quite illiterate in many of the details and specifics.

Though I will say it'd be quite ironic if you typed the Garuda-creature as Poison and the Naga-creature as flying X3

Oh dang, not sure if I can pull that off but I'd love to mix up the typings like that. I'll see what I can come up with!
