So it is officially May 1st here in Australia and you know what that means? A fortnight until my birthday. Only 2 weeks to go.

Normally I hate my birthdays, for various reasons, but last year I held a little competition that made it kinda better, so I'm wondering if it would be worth running again.

All I ask for is a piece of art created specifically for me. Can be in any form... hand drawn, digitally doodled, fanfic, poetry, knitting/crochet, sculpture, topiary, skywriting... whatever. Be as creative as you like. Whatever the medium you prefer.

If you wish to theme it you can choose any, or any combination, of the following to work with as inspiration: AstroBoy, Supernatural (The CW show), Doctor Who (11th or Idris particularly), Firefly, DeathNote (the anime), Steampunk, Gothic, supernatural (ghosts, zombies, werewolves, demons, etc) M.C.Escher ( my favourite artist), Fire (FIIIIIRE!), the color red (it's my favorite ), Black (my second favorite).. uh, I'll add more if I can think of anything.

It can be as abstract or as literal as you like in any medium you like. There are no limitations to your creativity and everyone who enters will recieve a thank you note and a small gift mailed to them. You can enter as many times as you wish and all entries will be collated into a special album on facebook.com/phoenixfireartau. Fans will then have the chance to vote via the like option for their favourites.

First prize will be a custom artwork for the winner of any creature/character of their design, and a print of it mailed to them with their thank you gift.

Second prize is an inked artwork -or- an A4 print from my current range mailed to them with their thank you gift.

Third prize is a sketched artwork -or- an A5 print from my current range mailed to them with their thank you gift.

Special Mention will go to my favourite work of art and I'll draw you a flat color image of your entry in my style, as well as send you an extra special something with your thank you gift.

Entries can be emailed to contests@phoenixfireart.com.au and please include your name (as this will be posted on multiple sites make sure to include the site and username you're entering from as well please) as well as your address if you wish to recieve a letter of thanks and a small gift. If you have a page you display your creations on please include that as I am more than happy to give you a shout-out on your entry, as well as free advertising on the winners announcement.

Entries will close on Tuesday the 12th of May, voting will last until my birthday on the Thursday 14th of May and winners will be announced on the 15th of May.

*Please note: Due to lack of funds on my part I cannot pay to have any creations posted to me. If you wish to do that out of the kindness of your own heart I would appreciate it immensely and will endevour to include an extra something for your abundant kindness. Just let me know in your email.

**Also due to the same lack of funding there may be a delay in posting thank you gifts unless I make a ton of sales and/or my Fiancé-minion manages to get a job and/or my Patreon http://www.patreon.com/MeaKitty explodes with the kindness of strangers who wish to help me with my artistic progression by supporting me on a monthly basis from as little as $1. Anyone who can't handle this delay should not participate.

**Competition entries remain the copyright of the original artist, however, by entering you give permission for me too use your entry as inspiration for my own work of art based on yours. I will not use your entry directly as I feel that is unfair and wrong and I would not ask that be done to any of my work. You will receive full credit for your inspiration but not a share in any profits that may be gained from this. If you can't agree with that please don't enter.
