Super Collie, in a scene reminiscent of "Heavy Metal", riding a Giant Haast's Eagle (Harpagornis moorei rex) amid the Southern Alps mountain range.

Created almost entirely in ArtRage 4 - the only exception being the background which is a photo of Aoraki/Mt Cook that I took a couple of years ago that I ran through GIMP "cartoonify" and "oilify" filters.

While Harpagornis moorei rex is fictional, the bird that I based it on - Haast's Eagle (Harpagornis moorei) - actually existed around the 1300s, and I'm very grateful that it's extinct because (in the words of BadAss of the Week) *"...These goddamned things were, no exaggeration, the size of hang gliders, tore ass through the densest jungles of New Zealand with the dexterity of a howler monkey, and boasted black, pointy, fuck-off claws that were about the same size as a modern-day Bengal tiger's." *Honestly, it would take someone like Super Collie to tame one of these things!
