A deep need for new experiences permeates the Teplian species. While it varies in strength and interpretation from individual to individual, most Teplians find a large part of their lives dedicated to satisfying this instinctual and cultural desire. Ciera Chibus shocks many with her mostly routine day-to-day life. Her work as a biological chemist may contribute to the field and has been recognized by her peers, but the laboratory is anything but a place of exciting new sensations and diverse activities. Yet she doesn't travel much, and her hobbies aren't particularly extreme or overwhelming. Many praise her for breaking stereotypes, for escaping the natural inclinations of her species...what they do not realize is that Ciera has that need and that this need for broadening her horizons is even more powerful than many other Teplians. She would jump at almost any excuse to disappear from the laboratory for a while. She dreams of a day when, impossibly, all her projects would end at the same time and leave her with no obligations to stick around. Ciera loves her profession and field, but the siren call of the unknown is sweet indeed.
