Acrylics are definitely a lot different that watercolor, heh. I should practice with the medium more, for sure. I've got mixed feelings on this, but for the majority of them, I enjoy how this came out.
As for the scene, there are places in my story's world where there are landmasses that float, so they were replicated to the refuge where the kids stay, so kids know how to handle themselves around them, which is (obviously) where Khat is right now. Further, there are no stars.
