The new Grand Duchess looked very nice, indeed. She now, I think, had far more furs that were able to take care of her pelt, and her brush had been fluffed out and carefully combed. She was also wearing a very demure dress of dark green, along with an emerald necklace, and a tiara that had an emerald winking from it.

The Grand Duke returned my bow graciously. "Ah, I'm glad you could respond to my summons quickly, Master. You were the final fur I wanted as a witness."

"Thank you, [exalted lord]." I turned to his mate. "And thank you, [exalted lady]."

I think she had been lost in some kind of rumination, for she started slightly, and blinked at me. It was then that I noticed she wasn't wearing spectacles. I think she noticed it, too, for she began to pat herself, with increasing vigour.

"Blast! These court dresses are so impractical. Never a pocket where you want one...where did I put those indefinite....!"

Grand Duke William smiled, and twirled one of his fingers. A pair of silver-steel rimmed spectacles, on a thick braided ribbon, appeared in his paw.
