Ripples in The Harbor

Ripples in The Harbor (critique requested)

Markarian

For hours the evening sun had set the waters of Horseshoe Harbor alight with a glimmering spectacle of gold and white, like some brilliant, multifaceted jewel. But it was after this time that the lone earth pony who waited patiently on the jetty was finally able to squint into the semi-dark below and catch sight of the face that blinked back at him in a precious, startled instant.

Long having known nothing but the waves below, the object of the earth pony's curiosity could not afford to let his secret be known when he ventured into the realm of the land ponies. Upon shaky, unfamiliar legs he built a new life in this sleepy coastal town. But this dual life was built upon a secret, known now only to the earth pony that was staring back at him from above. Beyond mere curiosity lies fascination, and beyond that fascination lies a passion and determination that was stronger than the water was cold. He had to know for sure. With his heart racing in his chest, he donned his goggles and sucked in a deep breath.

To my beautiful Steady Binding, because I cannot say in words how much I love you.

Hey Everypony,

I'm still alive...I think. To those of you who attended Everfree Northwest this year, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's your fire and enthusiasm that really makes the magic of our event and reminds us why we work so hard to put it on. Thanks to all who made this the best EFNW to date.

This is an original piece I have been working on for a few months. To say this is a very personal piece would be an understatement, but I wanted to share it nonetheless. I got a new recording setup, so I am still learning as I go. As always, I welcome any and all comments and constructive feedback.

PLEASE NOTE: I DO NOT READ MUSIC! Please don't ask me for sheet music--I'm self-taught and do not yet have the skills necessary to faithfully transcribe my work to notation.

As always, thank you so much for listening, sharing, and being a part of my music.

You are such a talented composer! This is my favorite piece that you've done so far.
Nothing compares to hearing you play in person, but you did a great job on the recording. Keep it up!
