Background: During her teenage years, Kaiya showed a gifted talent for fixing vehicles and helped her father at his repair garage, she also dreamt of becoming a fly girl in the rebellion. At age 15, she once tried her hand at flying her brothers Skyhopper, but wrecked the craft instead. At age 20 while Kaiya was off world getting supplies for her father‘s business, her family was arrested by the local Imperial garrison on Vorzyd for helping a rebel spy escape. While in custody, a greedy Moff by the name of Bjlevine sold her family to Quito the Hutt as slaves. The family was taken to the smugglers moon of Nar Shatta. Quito forced her mother and her two sisters to be slave girls. Her father revolted but was cut down by Quito’s guards, along with her only brother. Two years later, her mother couldn’t take it any more and committed suicide. After hearing of this, without any living parents, Kaiya fell into despair. Since she was offworld when her family was captured and sold, she joined the Rebellion to exact her revenge on the Empire and the Hutts. Four years after her mother took her own life, a Corellian by the name of Marcus Starkiller enlisted Kaiya into Escort Squadron as a pilot, after persuading the command staff of the Starkiller‘s Pride, Starkiller reluctantly agreed to let Kaiya lead a well armed strike force into Quito‘s palace. During the fire-fight, Kaiya was struck in the left forearm by a stray blaster bolt and two of her fellow rebels where cut down. When the fighting ended, her eldest sister along with Quito lay dead. Kaiya felt a great loss, but her only remaining sister made a full recovery and later took command of the commando unit stationed aboard the Starkiller‘s Pride. When Kaiya and the remaining rebels returned to the flagship, she was informed by ships doctor that her arm couldn’t be saved. After the amputation of her arm, Kaiya received a mechno arm as a replacement, with a false arm, she felt her career in Escort Squad was over, but to her surprise, Marcus allowed her to stay-on as a mechanic, which suits her skills well. She then worked full-time as the Starkiller's Pride's assistant mechanic and worked alongside Lincoln Husker in the main hanger. When Escort Squadron was reformed into Raptor Squadron, Kaiya was personally assigned to take care of the various X-Wings within the squad by General Starkiller himself, and as such, was promoted to Head Mechanic for the unit.
