In a story I'm writing, mages once had the power to pool their abilities and summon what they called demons or angels. The reality was a little different; these things were actually created from the intensity of their collected emotions, and were used as weapons of war. Most were destructive, though a few created could heal people en masse. Anyway, they had approximately the same strategic power as atomic bombs, and their existence made life incredibly deadly for a short while in the region.

Not all of them look like this; some are incredibly synthetic, others are hyper-organic, others look like nothing in particular. It all depends on their purpose and the desires of those who made them. Of course, that makes them a little difficult to describe with writing. Drawing them out in a sort of quick and abstract way helps. So here's the first of a few!
