Vivace! by Manna

Vivace

(Presto, Vivace!)

He took her hand in his own and he said

"We'll run and we'll run 'till all we see is red"

They ran their race on the railroad tracks

They ran and they ran and they never looked back

Further and further to outrun the oncoming trains

Through the wind and the hail and the harsh summer rains

Blinded by the daylight of the incoming sun

Agitated angry in the face of their run

They ran and they ran until the blood left their veins

Slickening up the tracks for oncoming trains

Those loud shouts to paint them black with tar

To hunt them down and chase them from afar

And when they caught up to them he looked at her and he said

"Together we started running and together we end"

They ran their race on the railroad tracks

They ran and they ran and they never looked back

Vivace!

Manna

so for a while I was experimenting with different styles and I had the idea for "speed poetry" or, poetry to be read at a fast pace

but wow that was really gimmicky so I eventually scrapped the idea

this is the only completed work from that experiment

I do eventually want to make a separate writing persona to explore a different kind of writing, but I still haven't found an alternate style I like
