Didn't You Just Have a Baby Last Year?

So... I live in the south, so I've already talked pregnancy in the past few years several times... like here:

Now here's me complaining about pregnancy again. Wanna know what often happens when someone gets pregnant (in the south)? Right after having the first baby, they have another baby. I know that it doesn't just happen in the south, but it's very common in the south, especially with younger mothers. And it ain't just younger mothers; my mother conceived me around a year after my sister was born. Granted, I was accident, but still...

I'm not really sure if this is such a good idea. I get why people do it- it's nice to have siblings close in age so that they can play together. But there are some risks in doing this. For one, there are health risks with having a second child right after the first one, like anemia and more difficulty with breastfeeding. The baby can also have risks, like premature birth and low birth weight. (https://www.womenshealthmag.com/life/a19918806/pregnancy-close-together-risks/)

Not only that, but your attention's gonna be divided between the oldest child and the newborn. Your firstborn hasn't been around for a long time, and now there's a second child coming along. That poor child might feel left out at the potential of you missing out on their milestones. And that's not considering the fact that infants are a lot of work to take care of. Now, am I saying you're a bad person if you have a second child right after your first one? No, that's just absurd. I'm just telling you to be careful.
