The Breath by MalafaeDraws

You breathe.
Breath in, breath out.
You breathe easy, you are safe.
You eat.
Nutritious food, fuelling your day.
You eat easy, you are safe.
You drink.
Simple, clean water. It hydrates-
There is a problem. A pain as it passes.

You breathe.
Breath in, breath out.
You breathe, but you are uneasy.
You eat.
Nutritious food, you need it.
But it hurts. Hurts to even swallow.
The food you need to survive tortures you as you try to eat it.
You drink.
Simple, clean water. Surely it should state this burning.
The flames grow brighter.

You breathe.
Your breathe is shallow and fearful, the air passing through your lungs only barely.
You don't want to risk taking too much.
You eat.
Your body punishes you with pain.
Your drink.
Your body punishes you with pain.

How long until it punishes you for breathing too?

The Breath

MalafaeDraws
