Foreign exchange newt

magnus

I’ve moved to Zootopia, hello I’m foreign exchange from Canewtda

I decided that I'd be a newt in the Zootopia universe! (A newt who dreams of being a dragon)

"But reptiles/amphibians/birds aren't in Zootopia!" you cry,
Yes, I know! But I wanted to explore that maybe, JUST MAYBE, we only saw a sliver of that animal world.

I'm totally rocking that headcanon as well. Give me reptile tourism, give me the bird equivalent of Chinatown. Give me cities in the ocean! I'm in love with the world building opportunities.
Your newtself is fantastic! What a super charming design. What do you think their preferred mode of transportation would be? Trying not to get squashed by hippos in the water transport?

Actually it has been confirmed that there are birds and reptiles in the Zootopia universe, they just aren't living in that particular city. : ) Which makes Transfer Newt even more perfect!

Has it? Where? I imagined there might be, but I never saw it confirmed anywhere.

"The world of Zootopia is so huge that there are cities that had to get cut out of the film, but they exist on the map. The Meadowlands is all sheep. Outback Island is an Australian district. There is a nocturnal district with a city of caves. And there are probably other cities with reptiles and birds."

        just found this

I dunno if you were still curious, but I wanted to mention that the 'The Art of Zootopia' confirms this, with Jared Bush (writer and co-director) stating that 'reptiles and birds do exist on this planet, we just don't go to those continents' and that they chose to limit this particular film to mammals.
