His gem is of course an Adamite, it's located on his Adam's apple. I figured since Adamite's are really fragile, what better place to have them than on a vulnerable place on the body: The throat.
He really looks like a villain. That was unintentional. He's meant to be daring, charismatic, throwing caution to the wind, and a bit of a wiseass.
