Rise and Chirp by LycheeMonster

Rise and Chirp

LycheeMonster

currently, i'm still on post-graduation vacation.

but this work from a couple years ago reminds me of where i've been and what i can do.

also it just helps to know i have been through my own struggles and still want to continue to make work, have been in rough straights and still made work.

photo taken at my printmaking end of year gallery show approximately two years ago.

What size they are?! (for woodcut fu... they look pretty small)

In the other way I love them

indeed very small, 3x3 inches, 7x7 cm maybe, also it maybe is linoleum, it's been a couple year since since then.

I feel it more like linoleum but don't care the technique, the results are great!
do you still working with these materials?

i have my carving dowels and some leftover linoleum, and access to the student store and other sources too... but i don't have the massive ink. i'd have to mix and get some of my own.

that would really require a studio space. for now, i'd probably have to make my own ink and do inconsistent monoprints.

it would be fun to make a series though. print out a bunch of phinekistoscopes and zoetropes for animation.

You can print with a Barim and a little of ink; try to find some ink called Cuiloa, I don't know if they sell it in other countries but It's a good option (cuz dry very fast and It's water base so it's super easy to clean and not toxic! and super cheap)

Some advantage of linoleum are that its super easy to work and you don't need a special place to work it or print it! (I do it in my room)
