Ailura, Unfettered by Luprand

Ailura, Unfettered

Luprand

"When first I was captured and bound into this body, I was full of the wisdom of the supernatural world but had little of human schooling. How I struggled to escape those bonds, to return to the wild! How I chafed at the task of serving those who, in my best days, I could have shredded and devoured! But time passed. I learned the ways of the humans, I learned their tongue, I learned their darkest secret arts. Over the centuries, I learned how to unravel the old net, strand by strand, until I could almost taste freedom once more and flee to my old home. But I was stopped by an unexpected party: myself. I still hated my captors, but they were long since dead and the rising generations looked at me less and less as a servile pet and more as a companion, a maternal one at that. I could not abandon them, could not leave the ones for whom I now cared. I would stay and wear the bindings once more.

"But I remembered how to slip them off again, should the need arise."

Referencing a rather older picture, Ailura: Imp mage - this is what happens when the spells that bind her to her current body become a bit strained. Call it a Limit Break, if you like. She shifts a bit closer to the wildling demon she once was and rains down magical fury upon her enemies ... at least until the shattered enchanment comes back together and encases her in the body of a cat once again.

I hope you'll pardon the artwork; eldritch spooky things are something I still need a lot of practice with.
