If I Ever by Lunostophiles (critique requested)

If I Ever

If I ever get over you
(Which I fear I'll never do),
You'll want to watch the skies.

I'm sure there will be a meteor,
Or aliens,
Or bombs ahoy!

If I ever get over you,
If I ever exorcise you,
Then keep your feet on solid ground
Because the earth will be shifting.

Tectonic plates cracking and forming,
A new pangaea in the works--
A new landmass to re-explore.

If I ever get over you,
It'll be after I'm rotted through--
And everyone we've ever known
Will be six feet under and dust and bones.

Then, maybe, this pining will cease,
And the hairline fractures of my heart will seal
And disappear.

If I ever get over you--
I'm kidding myself, I know.
Getting over you means getting over something amazing,
Like shunning the sun, or spitting at the moon.

Nothing quite fills the hole you carved inside of me.
Nothing sits in there quite right.

So congratulations--
At least on one person, you've left an indelible mark.
But I can't even tell you about it.

Friend.

I wrote a thing.

I dunno.

Oooh....that feeling of something lost. How I've endured so much from this. This thing that you wrote, it brought back a feeling I haven't felt in a while.
