Very cool illustration here. Nice touch using the flag and the icon behind his head like that. Makes sort of a halo look.

'Fraid I'm not familiar with Sword of the Stars.

Thanks, I put a lot of work in this one so it's always great to get compliments on this one :)

Swords of the Starts is a game(or, rather, now an universe) created by Kerberos Productions. Originally a scifi 4X("empires-builders") turn-based strategy game. They later released a sequel called Sword of the Stars 2, which was badly received because the publishers forced Kerberos to release their game when it was still incomplete or they would kill the project.

After apologizing for this, despite a large amount of fanrage with many saying Kerberos had broken their trust(despite the decision being forced by the publishers), Kerberos decided to continue working on the game to fix it rather than abandon it... basically using all the funds they had remaining to continue patching it at a pace where they were releasing a patch every weeks for more than a year straight(Kerberos Productions' CEO, and one of their developpers, Martin Cirullis joked sometimes about having had to work 60hours straight a couple of times).

Finally, when all that was left of the funding alocatted by the publishers ran out, they began to recently release indepently-published games of their own, first with a roguelike dungeon-crawling RPG called Sword of the Stars: The Pit and now a Panzers General ground-based strategy game called SOTS: Ground Pounders, to basically be able to continue supporting Sword of the Stars 2 out of their own pocket since the publisher has stopped funding them.

The whole universe is also written by a woman called Arinn Dembo, who's been kicking around the gaming industry since as far as the nineties back when it was an almost purely male industry. And if you are familiar with the Homeworld strategy game franchise by Relic Entertainment, she's also one of the writers who contributed a lot of the lore found in the original game's manuals.

Also, though none of the team are furries, I would be tempted to call it one of the most furry game universes out there, with playable races which include the likes of simian humanoid reptiles, pyshic marsupial slavers, bird/dragon/taurs hybrids and psychic space dolphins ontop of a race of bug people.
