Mahna Drop Example Sheet by Luckypan

Mahna Drop Example Sheet

Luckypan

So after a lot of thinking, I gave Luufa and her/his little race of fluffy babbies a name and a history. They are actually a part of the current world me and Nim-nim have been character-designing for, but I thought it might be fun to use Luufa as an example for the race. This is also a set example of what the next round of adoptions featuring them will include!

Within this (yet unnamed) world exists a large tree covering nearly the entire island it's upon. It is considered as a 'tree of life' and guarded closely. From it's branches fall large droplets of dew that contain a tiny creature known as a Mahna Drop. Drops are the source of all magic, as well as all other types of Mahna (Dragons) that inhabit the world, as well as other subclass magical beasts.

They begin completely androgynous and only when reaching adulthood do they decide their gender (if at all). Once in their lifetime they produce an egg so choosing a mate is an important process! Each Drop awakes with a mysterious trinket in their arms along with a unique talent.

They can mate with other species, and will still only produce one offspring. They have an average lifespan of 150 years at the most.

The trinket carries a lot of significance in the Droplets lives, as typically they are a gift to be given to their chosen mate/love. However, something special happens when the item they have is of the same element as the other Drop they are interested in. There is a higher chance of creating an entirely new element, a raw base of magic and a blend of colors more vibrant than usual. Who knows what would happen if both Drops had each others trinket and traded them!
