I recently bought MCDM's 5th edition D&D supplement, STRONGHOLDS AND FOLLOWERS, and within the pages are the gemstone dragons (and dragonborn). I've been in love with the idea recently that dragons amass tribes of kobolds as flunkies to do their bidding, and that each tribe is eventually warped by the dragon's magic to make them more in their own image. So, here's a kobold from an emerald dragon's lair. He's striking out on his own so as to not be a servitor to an evil dragon anymore!
