Born as Fan-He of the Weeping Lotus Clan, Te Jia was brought up to be a cruel and merciless killer. Her father, the Shizu-Qian, was cruel and unforgiving, forcing Te Jia to undergo brutal training to become a leader of his forces, the pinnacle of ninja. Te Jia, of course, wanted nothing to do with it, much to the constant disappointment of her father.

One fateful night, Te Jia betrayed her father, choosing to not assassinate Ahna Azurehorn as he ordered, and joined the party. Later, during their travels to Jade Mountain, Te Jia is captured by the Shizu-Qian, who infiltrated Jade Mountain with his ninja army with a singular purpose: kill Lord Maiqhal Azurehorn and his daughter Ahna. Te Jia ultimately betrayed her father again, but paid the ultimate price for it.

Te Jia was successfully resurrected by her friends, and since then has followed the light of Sarenrae, the Dawnflower and Redeemer, and Te Jia ventures forth as a paladin of Sarenrae, believing that everyone can be redeemed if they desire. If not, the Dawnflower's fire will smite them down...
