Yume, Kitsune Bard by LordFenrir

Yume, Kitsune Bard

LordFenrir

Growing up in a kitsune village on the island continent of Nippon, Yume has been groomed, like so many of his people before him to accept an ancestral spirit into his body when the time comes for him to learn the ways of the warrior. Yume however had no interest in pursuing combat, but instead preferred acting and singing, much to the dismay of his parents and clan. The clan elders prayed to Inari to send a wise spirit who would not give up on the young kitsune until he became an expert warrior, but instead, the young fox became one with a mischievous spirit who enjoyed causing trouble, and desired to see the world, rather than teach the kitsune the ways of the sword.

Feeling like all the clan and his ancestors had given up on him, Yume struck out on his own one cold night to carve his own path. He eventually came to join a band of adventurers and has been a boon (whether for good or ill) to them ever since, always with a song in his heart.
