A while back, I posted a one-off portrait of a Jeroban character design, and while I had already been giving him a bit of thought by the time I posted said portrait back in late June, I only recently got around to drawing the rest of him...

Meet Wezzen, a pudgy, awkward Jeroban who works as an attendant at a fuel and repair hangar on a space station on the edge of Cygnian Federation space, working alongside Ridgeback handyman and janitor Kip, and the scrappy Ysl mechanic Ysla.

He wears many hats in his role, ranging from something akin to Air Traffic Control as he directs craft in and out of the hangar bay, to meeting with pilots to discuss repairs and getting the appropriate mechanics and automechs on the task, to fuel dispenser operator and even cashier for the little shop in the hangar. Thankfully, the remote station he works at isn't all that busy thanks to its location, because Wezzen tends to be a bit scatterbrained, especially when things get hectic.

One thing that drew a few questions initially was why Wezzen was sporting a collar. Initially, I just felt like drawing him wearing a collar to add a bit more visual interest to the portrait, and then I briefly considered that he may have been some sort of low-level criminal (presumably incarcerated for a slew of low-level offenses ranging from accidental shoplifting to unpaid parking fines, the sort of stuff that would wind him up in a low-security holding facility while doing community service or something) and the collar was a tracking and restraint device, before abandoning that idea.
While updating his design, I decided to keep the device from the collar, and instead move it to a chain around his neck--as it fits the Jeroban technological aesthetic as seen on prisoner restraints and the face plates of Jeroban automecha, I decided to have the device be a sort of combination miniature computer and security device, likely used to activate and operate the fuel dispensers and other various terminals around the hangar as to prevent unauthorized use.

As for why he's awkwardly shrugging while in nothing but his underwear... I felt like drawing more pudgy, dopey boys in their underwear. Perhaps he was interrupted while trying to take a nap, or more likely, he overslept again and was awoken by Ysla's shouting and Kip pounding on his door because there are ships waiting to be serviced down in the hangar already.
His usual attire will probably be an orange jumpsuit with dark pads/patches sewn on the elbows and knees, somewhat resembling a prison uniform, but more likely brightly colored for increased visibility as he works in the hangar.

Back when I posted his portrait, I speculated on the possibility of using him as another "alternate avatar"/"alternate 'sona" and I'm still undecided on that--on the one hand, he would basically just be a Jeroban reskin of Domec in many ways, but on the other hand, being a cashier that's practically a crew leader in all but job title while working in a hot, noisy, smoky environment with a rude goblin and a variety of other awkward critters as coworkers very closely resembles my actual life...
