More portraits of long-forgotten and underutilized characters, this time featuring the villainous Nelson Yellowfang, a character I've drawn maybe two or three times in the past 16 years...

Originally designed as a villain to match Chance Whitefang, I attempted to write a story featuring Nelson in 2005. While said story, like most of my horrible high-school writing, has been lost to time (thankfully), I do remember taking extra care to explain Nelson's brutal, cruel, and senselessly violent nature. Perhaps that's why I never did much with him--I find Chaotic Evil quite boring in most cases, villains without much to them besides "be evil because I can" tend to strike me more as a disposable Monster of the Week than an interesting character.

Of course, years later and with far better understanding of storytelling and characterization, I'm sure I could work him into an interesting character. Assign some motive to his actions, some goal he's trying to accomplish, things he was always lacking in the past.
Or, as some people are in real life, perhaps he's simply cruel and evil, and with terrifying strength and aggression to back it up, it's up to Chance Whitefang and his friends to rid the Northern Wilderness of this threat once and for all, just as it was all those years ago when I first tried to tell the story...
