Today's The Day, Satan!

LordDominic

I was in the mood to do some portraits, so here's another iteration of the whole "Lucifer Dominicus does the Sigil of Baphomet" thing, since I wasn't really satisfied with the last one I did.

Granted, maybe trying to do this with a magic space antelope whose horns curve the exact opposite way than I need them to in order to follow the points of the pentagram will be forever doomed to failure... But it's fun to draw edgy shit sometimes.

Next time I'm armed with a set of hoof trimmers and disinfectant spray while facing up to a 200 lbs billy goat I'm going to think of this.

Still find this guy unsettling though less so with the grin than the previous expression you gave him. Have you ever thought of giving him more goat like eyes, even the little Angora females have quite an evil look at times.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Dominicus weighs a bit over 200 pounds even without all his adornments and armor--sounds like you're getting off easy with a goat that small! I describe him as a "space antelope" but given how large and shaggy he is, perhaps he'd be more accurately described as a "space yak".
The only goats I've ever encountered personally have been the small petting zoo variety, I take it some breeds can get rather large?

I find Dominicus far less unsettling than Apollyon in general, although the eyes are a big part of it. It's probably got something to do with Apollyon's cold stoic expression, not once have I drawn him expressing anything besides cold contempt for all that exists, he doesn't just have Resting Bitch Face Syndrome, his face seems to actually be stuck like that. I may have to anger him sometime just to make him emote at all!
I still to this day don't know what I did right with Apollyon's design, and his eyes in particular, but it's working so I'm not about to change it!

It's funny you mentioned the goat eyes--I've tried that in the past with a lot of different characters of mine, ranging from ones that might benefit from having scary eyes like various Lucifer, to basic goat and deer characters, and I just never quite get it working, sadly, it just looks off and I go back to the round friendly Disney Eyes... That doesn't mean I won't try it again in the future, though! Or maybe I could work it into a new species design, as if I don't already have too many character and species designs that go completely unused already!

As for the Lucifer, I've also tried giving them slightly more "serpent" eyes in the past as well, but just couldn't get it working either. Their eyes looking the way they do does remind me of a wolf or something, though, something that's clearly a predator. Forward-facing eyes for binocular vision, sharp teeth and claws, these things are probably apex predators even before they start having quasi-magical abilities!
