Back in 2014, I drew an okapi character named Zifa a handful of times, and people seemed to like her quite a bit, but she never really went anywhere... Part of this was probably due to her overall lack of "character", as like many of my charater designs, she was more about the visual than the personality, but moreso, the fact that she was the only okapi I ever drew meant she just didn't "fit in" with anything I was doing, at least without adding yet another race to Demeter canon.

Being in the mood to revamp/redesign/revive forgotten character designs, I decided to take a shot at bringing her back. Since okapis aren't a canon anthro race in-universe, but zebras are, and the two are fairly similar visually, I decided to make her a zebra instead--this way, she'll fit in nicely alongside the handful of other zebra characters I have.

I tried to incorporate Zifa's okapi coloration into her new zebra form as best I could--her light tan instead of typical zebra white, and dark brown instead of the usual black, and it seems to work as a plausible color variation for a zebra character.

Anyways, I'm quite pleased with the result, and hopefully I'll manage to find a place for her in the world at some point.
