Good Morning, Keone by LordDominic

Good Morning, Keone

LordDominic

More Keahi/Keone stuff since people seem to like this race, and I like drawing them.

Here we see the same girl from my previous "Greetings From Keone" drawing, but this time wearing something a bit more colorful (colorful sarongs are a staple of Keahi fashion for both male and female members of the species), and in town so I have an excuse to draw one of those larger buildings I put in the background of a lot of my Keone art in a bit more detail...

While the Keahi and their culture is very vibrant and colorful, a lot of their architecture is rather bland and grey... this is the result of them using the hard, durable and plentiful igneous rock common across their planet as a construction material. While the rock is extremely hard and durable, making for robust structures that can withstand the harsh typhoons the islands experience at times and can even provide a bit of safety during a volcanic eruption or lava flow event, it also means the towers are bland and grey most of the time.

Nothing some colorful banners and decorations can't fix, though! I've yet to draw an interior space for one of these buildings, but the Keahi love vibrant, colorful decor, so while the exteriors of the buildings are rather bland, the interior living spaces are anything but. Also, the streets are frequently decorated with colorful banners, flags, lanterns, signs and floral arrangements, and little vendor stands and carts are a frequent sight tucked between and around the big towers.
