2015 art. Deneb, the... well, his species is now referred to as a "Cygnian Longtail" but I think this bit of brilliance from the original submission page really hits the nail on the head...

No, seriously, I have no idea what the hell he is. Coming up with search tags for this freak is difficult.
The frustration is just as real now as it was back then, no amount of made-up species names help in search-tagging this thing.
Suggestions back then ranged from "jerboa" to "rabbit lizard rat thing".
Oh, he's also in underwear. That's probably relevant too.

"Kangaroo" seems somewhat accurate, I don't usually add that as a search tag though... might be worth a shot, however. The tail is quite rat-like aside from the floof at the end. Doesn't quite strike me as a rabbit, though. At one point I think someone also suggested "donkey".
That's what makes him so hard to classify--he's some sort of made-up creature with a mishmash of features, so everybody might think something different when they see him!
