2013 art.
A "mystery egg" adoptable I got from an artist who hasn't had an internet presence in years... I had honestly forgotten all about this guy until I was going back through old art to see what's worth moving to Weasyl for archival purposes, so in a way I'm glad I'm rediscovering forgotten designs! He doesn't seem to fit with most of my other character designs, but maybe I could use him as the basis for some sort of alien race, or as a fictional character in-universe.
I have no way of accessing his original design, as the adoptable's creator deleted their account forever ago, but from reading my description it sounds like I took quite a few liberties with this guy.
Also, I am aware that his hands are terribad, I've improved slightly at hands over the course of five or six years...
And now, the copy-and-pasted description from the original submission page:
I made a bit more modifications than I normally do with adoptables I pick up (at least right away, Dusty, an adoptable I picked up in early 2013, is a good example of the gradual alterations I make as the character and I "bond" a bit more): I added actual hands and feet, and added some shorts and gloves as well since most of my anthro characters wear at least some clothing. Since his eyes weren't visible I had to make that part up too, I like how the yellow contrasts from the teal color of his body.
I was going for a more cocky or arrogant expression and wound up with something a bit more aggressive than I intended but I like how it turned out anyways.
He is described as a very proud Sprite who competes in every competition he can find. Sounds to me like quite the prideful one, and being a lion creature really fits with that theme as well! I figure that as a creature that looks a lot like a fairy, he would feel the need to defend his pride and assert his masculinity often. His simple outfit choice seems fitting for a kickboxer or street fighter, career choices that would allow him to demonstrate how tough he is quite often. He wears the gold medal he won at a tournament at all times and it is his most prized possession.
And, above all else, he HATES being called a "fairy" and won't hesitate to fight about it.
